Anti-Bullying Week 2016
Recently at Hillbrook, we have been learning all about Anti-Bullying.
In EYFS and KS1, children have learnt about bullying through stories, circle time and written letters of advice to each other. They have learnt all about the different positive things you can do in school to make sure you are a good friend and are kind to people.
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 have been learning all about the different types of bullying and their impacts on children as they grow up, even into adulthood. We have researched and discussed the serious effects of bullying and how we can prevent it. This has been through role play, discussions, poems, letters and quizzes. We then invited parents in to participate in our workshops. Parents learnt all about bullying and the positive things we do as a school to prevent it! This was to educate our parents and make sure they can communicate with their children about bullying. It was also a good opportunity for them to hear the different things we do in school and how they can find this information or who they can talk to. We showed them our Anti-Bullying policy through different scenarios and letters as well as a quiz to test them on their knowledge! We think it went really well and parents really enjoyed themselves!
